The title :"Capture, Representation and Synthesis of Animated Characters" Abstract Recently, motion capture has become one of the most straightforward and efficient solutions to realistic motion synthesis. In this talk, we present an approach to capturing dense facial motion parameters from video. At textureless regions, shading information is utilized for recovering detailed undulation. Besides, we introduce example-based motion synthesis techniques to represent and reuse motion capture data. The proposed method can rapidly and smoothly transit between captured motions or even parametrically synthesized ones. An efficient approach is also proposed to represent these capture data in a compact form.
